Stepping into that box lets it grab players, patients, or Hiders and pull them under the bed. A player grab costs 10 sanity immediately and then drains 5 sanity every 2 seconds while the player is held. The correct counter is Maple Syrup. Walk into the red box with Maple Syrup in hand and the Bed Monster takes it instead of dragging the player under the bed. If the Bed Monster grabs a patient, it can trigger the Monster Eating a Patient emergency, giving the team a short timer to save the patient. Bed Monster can also remove Hiders if one is baited into the red box, but that is a risky room-control move. The safer play is to route around the box or feed it syrup before the room becomes crowded.
